Biography
Dr Ada Agada is a distinguished Nigerian philosopher, author, and Senior Lecturer in the Department of Philosophy at the Federal University Otuoke. He is internationally recognized as the founder and principal proponent of Consolationism, a contemporary African philosophical system that has significantly influenced debates in ontology, ethics, metaphysics, and comparative philosophy. His landmark book Existence and Consolation: Reinventing Ontology, Gnosis, and Values in African Philosophy received the prestigious Outstanding Academic Title Award from CHOICE, the scholarly review publication of the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL), American Library Association.
Dr Agada has received numerous prestigious international fellowships and research grants, including awards from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, the John Templeton Foundation, the Global Philosophy of Religion Project at the University of Birmingham, the Johannesburg Institute for Advanced Study (JIAS), the Institute for Advanced Study at Central European University, and the African Humanities Programme of the American Council of Learned Societies. Prior to joining the Federal University Otuoke, he served as a researcher at the Centre for Leadership Ethics in Africa, University of Fort Hare, South Africa, and as a Senior Researcher with the Conversational School of Philosophy in Calabar, Nigeria.
